I met him when I was 18 years old.
Started dating him at 19.
Knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him at 20.
Engaged & married to him at 22.
Became the mother to his child at 27.
Side by side at 28. Just a little wiser. More sure of ourselves. Stronger. Yet also working on tethering our strengths together rather than running parallel in our own ways.
We continue to change with age. Becoming more of our true selves, but also less of the people we were when we first met. It can be hard to get to know new versions of your spouse. Hard but rewarding.
I know one decade together is just the beginning. Growing up with and alongside Nathan Dilly is a gift. As we head into our tenth year together, I’m praying for many more decades of learning each truer version of my spouse & fighting alongside him to love each of the parts God draws forth.
