Motherhood: A Dichotomy

Motherhood.

Not at all what I expected.

So much more than I imagined.

Much harder than described.

Giving myself more easily than before.

Loving so deeply.

Caring less about things I vowed.

Missing the old me.

Liking this version so much better.

Can feel so isolating.

Can’t be done without others.

Itching to show just how cute.

Desiring to just unplug.

Craving coffee into the afternoon.

Eager to fall asleep fast once the baby is down.

All the fear of getting it wrong.

Reminded all the time that she’s not really mine.

God’s got her.

God’s got this.

God’s got me.

Motherhood.
