I’m Cassie Dilly — Believer, wife, momma, friend.

Enneagram 1, working hard to tame my inner critic. I’m an outgoing introvert, big fan of cancelled plans (they’re like a snow-day for the busy schedules of life), verbal processor, and closet researcher (bless you, Wikipedia). I started blogging 15 years ago as a freshmen in college. My blog has had 5+ names, been hosted on several different platforms, and been re-designed more times than I can count, however, it has always been a place I enjoy coming back to time and time again.

My great love for teaching, encouraging, and public speaking came to a head in 2021 when I launched my podcast, “Celebrate Confidently.” I had set out to teach/encourage/talk about all things party planning, hosting, and hospitality, but ended up mostly talking about Jesus. What can I say? I think He is the absolute best. After 12 episodes, I took an undefined hiatus from the podcast once I started staying home full-time with my little girl, and eventually stopped paying to host it online. I’d love to one day teach + encourage with a podcast or other vehicle again, but we’ll see what God has in mind for me there.

Some things you may be interested to learn about me:

  • Writing is my way of processing. I'm a verbal processor but am also incredibly private, which means I often verbally process in the lines of my journal as I try to make sense of the metaphors the Lord downloads to me in that quiet time together.

  • I used to be ashamed of my wiring and spiritual gifts. In 2018, the Lord finally broke through the negative voices in my head and helped me not only understand how I'm wired but also really love my strengths + embrace my weaknesses. I'm still learning how to press into the gifts He has given me to use for His good and glory.

  • I’ve been a “Disney girl” for my entire life and lived and worked in Walt Disney World while in college. After 13+ years of being by my side, my husband is now also a Disney-lover, and we treasure enjoying the magic with our two kiddos. I could chat about planning a trip to visit Mickey Mouse all day long.

  • I’ve been eating gluten-free for well over a decade, and now, due to their own health needs, my whole little family of four is gluten-free as well. While I grew accustomed to using work-arounds to feed myself over the years, I’m experiencing the learning curve once again of feeding my family flavorful (easy) gluten-free meals, mostly approved of by my toddlers.

  • I am fascinated with pregnancy and birth. I desired and planned for an unmedicated first birth, but a traumatic car accident changed up our plans. Read our crazy birth story here; I talk about my incredible birth team of midwives and doula here; and about our decision to keep our baby's gender a surprise here. Now, after the birth of my second baby, I occasionally support other women in their pregnancies, deliveries, and early postpartum days as a trained doula.

  • I love to run. While I'm not always consistent, I was able to train for two half-marathons and a full marathon while in my 20s. While I take breaks that sometimes last longer than I would like, running is hands down the way I experience and hear the Lord the most.

  • After several different seasons of deleting and starting back up again, I stepped away from social media once and for all Summer of 2023. It has brought so much peace and delight to my life, and I honestly have no regrets. While I do still love an occasional Pinterest search for inspiration, I have felt my fickle heart and wandering eyes struggling with that platform as well recently. We’ll see how long until that one is on the chopping block as well.
